The Piano Faculty and the School of Music at Penn State is pleased to announce the details of the next Marian Garcia Piano Teachers Workshop, to be held, January 18th and 19th, 2013.
An exciting array of activities and and music-making events are in the works. Our special guests this year will be two top artists who have devoted themselves to the development of great music-making among the youth of the America. Nationally renonwned pianist and pedagogue Marvin Blickenstaff, and acclaimed pianist and NPR radio-show host Christopher O'Riley.

Mr. Blickenstaff is the latest in an impressive line of clinicians that have included Nelita True and Jerome Lowenthal. Mr. O'Riley will give a special performance on Friday night with cellist Matt Haimovitz, sponsored by the Centre for the Performing Arts. Click here to purchase your ticket for this event.
Select high school students will be invited to participate in a masterclass with Marvin Blickenstaff. The Penn State piano faculty (Christopher Guzman, Timothy Shafer, Steven Smith) will conduct teacher workshops and clinics, and there will be ample time for informal discussions on topics of teaching related to the independent studio.
