ELIGIBILITY:
•for classically trained High School Senior pianists (12th grade) in North America
•students of judges are ineligible to compete
PRIZES:
•1st place: $750.00, and Penn State Scholarships*
•2nd place: $250.00, and Penn State Scholarships*

JUDGING:
•Judges are professors of piano at Penn State.
•Judges’ decisions on all prize awards and eligibility will be final.
REPERTOIRE:
Please fill out the appropriate online form listing your repertoire selections; include appropriate identifying opus numbers. All works must be memorized.
1) A virtuosic etude of Chopin, Liszt, Rachmaninoff or Scriabin
2) Any complete sonata by Beethoven (except Op. 49, no. 1 or no. 2) or a comparably advanced complete sonata by Haydn, Mozart, or Schubert;
3) Contestants will have 18 minutes of performance time and must begin the program with a performance of their chosen etude. While the entire sonata must be prepared, judges may edit the performance of the sonata for time consideration.

*For consideration for scholarship eligibility contestants must make application to The Pennsylvania State University and audition for the piano faculty. Winners who do so and are accepted as music majors at the School of Music are guaranteed a minimum of $5,000 in tuition scholarships at Penn State. Scholarships may be made in amounts up to and including full in-state tuition at Penn State. Contact Penn State admissions for more details. Early application is recommended.
